Programming

We serve over 317 clients with varying degrees of ability. Our staff works closely with family members and legal guardians to ensure client satisfaction and that expectations are met in a caring and respectful environment.

Who We Help:

  • 18 years or older with written verification of a disability (16 years or older for referrals through Vocational Rehabilitation Services)

  • Demonstrate manageable medical conditions and self-help skills

  • Experience barriers to employment

Services We Offer People with Degrees of Ability:

Assessment & Training

  • Employment Planning Services (EPS)—A service designed to help an individual learn about employment opportunities and explore some of those jobs through situational assessments such as job tryouts, paid work trials, and volunteer experiences.

  • Employee Development Services (EDS) — Individualized services that assist persons to develop or re-establish skills, attitudes, work behavior and more in order to achieve positive employment outcomes.

Extended Employment

  • Crew Employment — Community employment under the direct supervision of WCI staff.

  • Individual Supported Employment (ISE) — Individual community employment with supervision provided by their employer and job coaching provided as needed by WCI.

Specialized Services

  • Job Placement — Placement services for individuals seeking an individual job in the community either as an advancement from crew or organizational employment or as an initial service with WCI. We assist with job seeking skills development, job coaching and job retention support.

  • Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) — Supervised work experience (both center-based and crew employment) for individuals with developmental disabilities. Provided in Willmar only.

  • Prevocational Services— Services designed to prepare an individual for paid or unpaid employment with a focus on attendance, communication, personal hygiene, problem solving, safety, and task completion. Provided in conjunction with DT&H.

  • WIN Program—This program, known as Work Involvement Now, is a partnership between WCI, Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Woodland Centers, is for individuals receiving service for a mental health illness through Woodland Centers and are interested in community competitive employment. WIN is made possible by the Individual Placement Support (IPS) grant.
